ACES: IRON EAGLE 3
If you’re looking for a film with lots of action, plenty of explosions and a cast that’s a film buff’s dream, then ACES: IRON EAGLE III is your movie!
Louis Gosset Jr. is back as Chappy Sinclair. This time the ace pilot is helping a woman whose South American village has been taken over by a former Nazi turned drug baron. But when Chappy tries to enlist the help of the U.S. air force he discovers the general he is speaking to is the Nazi's partner!
With nothing else for it, he recruits three ageing pilots and their vintage fighter planes and flies once again into battle. More than anything, ACES: IRON EAGLE III is fun and knows it. With tongues firmly in cheek, the cast has a ball. There is former bodybuilder and two-time Ms. Olympia winner Rachel McLish who can handle her fists as well as two machine guns. While fans of Quentin Tarantino and Asian martial arts films in general will recognize Sonny Chiba ("Kill Bill", "The Streetfighter") who can forget Horst Buchholz, one of the original "Magnificent Seven"?
Where ACES: IRON EAGLE III really soars is in the choice of director John Glen. The former James Bond-director Glen ("For Your Eyes Only", "Octopussy", "A View To A Kill", "The Living Daylights" and "Licence To Kill") brings a practiced and steady hand to the controls of this adrenaline-pumped tale of men and a woman doing what men and a woman gotta do!
