HAVE NO FEAR
No contemporary Christian leader has left a greater impression on his followers and the public than Pope John Paul II. In HAVE NO FEAR!, TV-event movie specialist Jeff Bleckner tells the story of one of the most unusual man of our time.
While narrating Karol Wojtyla's complete life story, the film also presents some of the Pope's most private moments, his regrets, passions, love for the theatre and the great humanity for which he was known as he rose quickly through the hierarchy of the church. HAVE NO FEAR! also discusses both the liberal and conservative actions of Pope John Paul II in his over 60 years of extraordinary church work.
In a performance that challenges like few others, Thomas Kretschmann ("Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Downfall", "The Pianist") conveys the great personal warmth and dedication of the man. When the film was broadcasted in the United States critics were unanimous in their praise of Kretschmann, who is here most ably served by Michael Hirst's excellently paced screenplay that covers all the important phases of Karol Wojtyla's life and work.
